A faculty member in Karbala University obtained a patent on manufacturing of the antioxidant peptides from wheat bran to be implemented in the fields of industry and medicine.

The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, included benefiting from agricultural waste as an economic project from bran bread instead of animal feed besides using it in the production of antioxidant bio-industrial which is useful for human immune system.

The patent included preparing proteinic decomposer from the protein center of local wheat bran which prepared via using trypsin of a microbial source in optimal conditions and the enzymatic decomposition was separated by gelatin filtration technique and obtained three proteolysis with concentrations of 0.456, 0.234, 0.789 mg / ml.
