College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk held a workshop on improving the forests in the Dibs district in Kirkuk Province, and its impact on the economic factor.

The workshop, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, aimed at studying the factors affecting the level of production, developing procedures and plans and providing needs of the forest.

The workshop reviewed that forests are an independent and preventive productive unit and the process of their development required specialized families working in the Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry to work according to the strategic plans to improve the agricultural environmental reality of the Province in general.

The workshop recommended disseminating the volunteering culture by all institutions concerned with the preservation of forests and the environment via organizing volunteering campaigns in various forest sites.
