College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Diyala held a workshop on soil pollution and its impact on the productivity of agricultural lands in Iraq.

The workshop, in which a number of researchers and students participated, included delivering a lecture on the impact of soil pollution on the productivity of agricultural land in Iraq, the reasons behind the pollutants, methods of remediation and disposing the negative impacts against the future of agriculture in Iraq.

The workshop recommended protecting soil from erosion via erecting retaining walls, especially in sloping areas, constructing dams to reduce the strength of floods, reducing erosion and cultivating sand dunes.
