College of Science, University of Kirkuk held a workshop on the medical geology and its relation to human health.

The workshop, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, addressed the environmental health issues that geologists are work on with the medical community to treat such as exposure to any toxic level of the essential and non-essential elements such as arsenic and mercury, exposure to polluted dust, radioactivity, organic compounds in drinking water and gases of volcanoes.

The workshop reviewed that the medical geology is interested in studying the relation between geological factors and human health issues as well as reviewing the impact of the factors on the geographical distribution of the health issues.
