College of Nursing, University of Babylon obtained a patent on producing Trichodema Longbarchiatum antibiotic via solid state technique.

The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, reviewed that the 72 samples were able to inhibit 3 or more of pathogens.

The patent also reviewed that the produced antibiotic has a wide effect against a group of positive and negative chromosomes besides its efficacy was tested on a group of pathogens to human and the efficiency of the produced antibiotic was higher than  the antibiotics of Tetracycline, Amikacin, Ampicillin and Gentamycin as well as its impact on a group of pathogens.

The patent concluded that the highest inhibition was obtained due to sample S4 against Bacillus Seraus bacteria with a diameter of 43.35mm after the fungus was grown in residues of solid potato residues for 9 days at 30 ° C. and It is higher than the diameter of antibiotic of Meropenem against Bacillus Seraus bacteria as well as extracting the antibiotic via fermentation with the use of Ethyl Acetate and distilled water.
