During participation in the Science and Technology Forum, Japan, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalel Al-Esa confirmed on Iraq’s need to support the friendly countries that support implementing modern software in the technical institutions.
Dr. Al-Esa added that during the former regime period Iraq was isolated from any connection with the world and implemented internet and information techniques and His Excellency referred that Iraq after 2003 witnessed a remarkable development in implementing information techniques and internet by the citizens and institutions.
His Excellency reviewed that despite the circumstances that followed 2003 such as terrorism and the war against Daaish, which finally ended by the victory of Iraqi forces, public and private institutions implemented information and computers technology in the work process.
Dr. Al-Esa also reviewed that the Ministry implemented electronic system in the admission of university and postgraduate students, provided access to the international database of the researchers and postgraduate students which resulted publishing more than 20000 researches in the recognized international scientific journals during the first half-year of 2017.
His Excellency continued by saying that Iraq adopted some information technology software in the process of disposal of the remnants of chemical weapons which used during the wars of the former Saddam regime in the eighties and nineties of the last century in order to comply with UN decisions as well as improving environment to contribute in providing of a healthy life for the community.
