In coordination with the International Monitoring Organization, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalel Al-Esa follows up the sites of destruction of the chemical residuals in north of Baghdad.
Dr. Al-Esa said that the residuals were treated by Iraqi experts from the institutions of the merged Ministry of Science and Technology and His Excellency added that Iraq is committed to the Chemical Weapons Convention.
His Excellency reviewed that Iraqi government is continuing its plan and programs on purifying the Iraqi environment from all chemical residues and Dr. Al-Esa continued by saying that Iraq became a major partner of all the countries and organizations of peace making in the world.
His Excellency praised the exerted efforts of the experts of the merged Ministry of Science and Technology to complete destruction programs of chemical residuals and take into consideration the required time to end this file and Dr. Al-Esa appreciated the role of Samarra Operations Command in protecting these sites.
For their part, the delegation of the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Organization in Hague expressed their appreciation for the accomplishment rates of the destruction process of the chemical residuals in order to preserve the Iraqi environment and Iraqis from the danger of the chemical pollution to send a message of reassurance to all Iraqis.
