During an inauguration ceremony of new buildings in the University of Babylon, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalel Al-Esa inaugurated Hammurabi College of Medicine, deanship of postgraduates’ studies, laboratories and classrooms.
Dr. Al-Esa said that the new college will be added to the sober universities such as Universities of Baghdad, Basra and Mosul and His Excellency added that the University of Babylon succeeded in completing academic twinning programs with the Northampton and Liverpool Universities in which more than 100 Iraqi scholars graduates from them in the fields of civil engineering, electrical engineering, information technology and nursing.
His Excellency reviewed that the Ministry is keen on developing the university institutions and supporting them logistically to achieve the strategy of scientific development in these deprived governorates which suffered crises and residues of war and Dr. Al-Esa also reviewed that the Ministry and its formations are taking the responsibility in investing the academic competencies to achieve scientific and cultural renaissance in Iraq.
Dr. Al-Esa continued by saying that the Ministry implemented the law of the Ministers Council No. 340 of 2016 on exploiting the tuition fees in the Higher Education Fund and His Excellency added that the total amounts awarded to universities during the academic year, 2017 are four billions IDs while the amounts awarded to the University of Babylon and Al-Qasim Green University are one billion IDs in order to complete the requirements of the educational process and achieve the qualitative additions of the Higher Education’s goals in Iraq in all scientific fields.
