Three faculty members in the College of Science, University of Al-Mustansiriyah obtained a patent on manufacturing spectroscopy operating within the visual area with low cost based on renewable energies.

The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, included manufacturing a spectrometer based on more one energy source such as electricity and solar energy as well as consisting on additional battery that operates for two hours.

It is worth mentioning that the device cost is 60$ and based on led technology to detect light source.
