A joint research team in Al-Mustansiriyah University and Baghdad Health Department obtained the first score for their patent at the European Exhibition of Medical Inventions in the Romanian city of Yash.

The pa]tent included preparing of a combination of bio-polymer dextran and anti-gentamicin antibiotic against antibacterial resistant bacterial infections associated with urinary catheterization tools as well as preparing a mixture in the coverage of urinary catheterization tools against bacterial contaminants.

The patent, in which won the first score among 400 inventors, reviewed the possibility of benefiting from it in the medical fields that contributes in finding scientific solutions for the problem of resistance to antibiotics which considered one of the health problems in the world.
