During a participation in the Huawei Communication Skills and Information Technology Competition for Middle East 2018 in China, Ministry’s Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Foud Qassim Mohammed said that the Iraqi team of three students; Hamzah Kamil from University of Anbar, Yusuf Ibrahim from the Al-Iraqia University and Osama Mahir from University of Nineveh participated in the completion after three months of qualifying tests to compete among a number of international and regional countries’ participants.
Dr. Mohammed added that the participation aimed at developing the skills of faculty members and students, providing a training environment for them in the field of information technology and communication and meeting the needs of the labor market.
Dr. Mohammed added that 18 centers had been inaugurated to host the first preparatory tests in various Iraqi universities.
Dr. Mohammed reviewed that the Ministry is keen on achieving more cooperation with Huawei Company in order to consolidate the academic relations in the fields of information technology and communication.
For his part, Huawei Middle East President, Mr. Charles Yang said that preparing a team of high-level of talents in the field of information technology and communication became a factor in the success of the governments to transform into knowledge economies as well as he added that the competition revealed many talents in the region with high levels of efficiency and success.
