During a meeting with the French Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Marc Barretti, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail reviewed developing academic cooperation between the two countries.
His Excellency added that Iraq is keen on developing relations with France, especially in the cultural and scientific fields via strengthening cooperation between the universities of the two countries.
Dr. Al-Suhail stressed on the possibility of sending top Iraqi students for postgraduate studies in French universities.
His Excellency also reviewed that the Ministry is keen on encouraging research fellowships for top Iraqi faculty members to develop their research capabilities in the French Centers.
Dr. Al-Suhail highlighted the importance of the French side’s support to rehabilitate the damaged universities by the terrorists.
For his part, Mr. Barretti expressed his country’s keenness to expand the framework of cultural and scientific cooperation with Iraq and provide postgraduate studies for Iraqi students in French universities.
