A joint research team in the College of Pharmacy, University of Al-Mustansiriyah conducted a study on developing a new method for the determination of aspirin in the form of sodium salicylate via UV spectrometer.

The study aimed at designing an easy, new and fast method for testing aspirin in pure and in pharmaceuticals form in order to ensure its rapid and complete solubility, increase pharmacological effectiveness and detect it in the form of sodium silicates via UV spectrometer.

The study reviewed implementing new method of testing aspirin manufactured from various companies in the Iraqi market, where other materials did not affect the estimation of aspirin as well as the new method gave high accuracy and correctness through repeated estimation of samples.

It is worth mentioning that the study also reviewed that the absorption of the series of salicylate is at the wavelength (535 nm) in the measurement within the range of (300-900 nm). 0.0429) and the correction coefficient (R2 = 0.9999).
