College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Al-Qadisiyah held an online workshop on the role of immunology in pathology and treatment of COVID-19. The online workshop demonstrated the severity of infection in the light of the immune condition of the infected person, the nature of the virus, how the infection and the duration required for the virus to detect the infection. The online workshop reviewed the individual differences in the severity of the infection among the citizens according of different ages, the immune condition of the person and its relation to the severity of the injury and the appearance of symptoms, as well as the drugs used to reduce the severity of the infection or decrease the associated respiratory diseases as a result of reducing immunity by infection. The online workshop highlighted the role and quality of nutrition in boosting the immunity and then facing infection successfully, with a focus on nutrition that contributes to raise immunity, such as vegetables and fruits that rich with vitamins.
