During chairing a meeting at the University of Mosul with the University Council and Heads of Departments and the Presidents of Universities in Nineveh Governorate, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.  Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi demonstrated the importance of faculty members and their active role in developing the level of universities and strengthening their academic performance and functions in teaching, scientific research and community service. His Excellency said that the universities have a very important impact on developing knowledge in general, enhancing it among students, developing their capabilities and reducing the effects of exceptional circumstances. Dr. Al-Aboudi expressed the Ministry’s confidence in universities in achieving educational requirements and activating applied research for faculty members and researchers, especially those that meet the needs of society. His Excellency stressed on the granting of non-exclusive powers to universities and Ministry’s formations and working in a team spirit. Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed the interventions, opinions and proposals of a number of faculty members, heads department and assistants regarding a range of university affairs. It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayyat.
