A research team in the Directorate of Renewable Energies, merged Ministry of Science and Technology reviewed a new project to produce biogas and organic fertilizers with a system of 10 cubic meters. The project aimed at treating organic and agricultural waste into a flammable biogas that can be used for cooking, lighting, heating, electricity generation and liquid organic fertilizer that rich in nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorous compounds as well as using it for irrigating soil. It is worth mentioning that the system is characterized by its durability, resisting to weather conditions, treating of 300 kg of organic and agricultural waste daily, can be built under and above the ground and near homes and contributing in preserving the environment because of it disposes of polluted organic waste, reduces harmful greenhouse gases and benefits the agricultural and remote areas.
