A research team in the Directorate of Renewable Energies, merged Ministry of Science and Technology designed solar heaters systems on the top of the buildings and departments of the Ministry, Director of the Center of Planning and Management Energy, Mr. Ali Abdul Aziz said. Mr. Abdul Aziz added that 69 electric heaters that were equipped with national electricity and consumed 130 MWh of electricity per year were replaced by solar energy heaters that are eco-friendly, reduce greenhouse pollutants by 110 tons annually, decrease harmful air emissions and save electricity. Mr. Abdul Aziz continued by saying that solar heaters systems were equipped with 85 heaters with different capacities for 15 buildings of the Ministry of Science and Technology to serve up to 2,600 employees in the Ministry, as well as reviewing the ability of the specialized staff to complete projects that serve the universities, dormitories and various complexes Solar thermal to produce hot water in all government’s institutions.
