College of Biotechnology, Al-Qasem Green University organized a symposium on stem cells and regenerative medicine.
The symposium, in which a number of specialists participated, included identifying stem cells, isolating stem cells from different sources, implementing them in producing different types of cells and tissues and confirming the natural origin of stem cells, as well as implementing of regenerative medicine, which includes the use of rich plasma with blood platelets and their role in treating various diseases such as joints and bone marrow.
The symposium recommended the need for specialized laboratories in the field of stem cell research and for a special bank of stem cells to be extracted from the umbilical cord of modern births.
