Baghdad University Approves Academic Cooperation with Germany’s Philipps University of Marburg within Erasmus+ Program

The University of Baghdad approved academic cooperation with Germany’s Philipps University of Marburg within the Erasmus+ program for 2026, as part of the academic and scientific exchange initiatives and joint collaboration between the two institutions.

The University reviewed that the cooperation entails the implementation of exchange programs for students, faculty, and staff in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, as well as involving the recognition of courses and academic credits completed within the program, thereby structuring academic mobility pathways and enabling both parties to benefit from each other's scientific and academic expertise and experiences.

The University’s President, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abd Al-Hassan Al-Zughaibi said that this collaboration aligns with the university's strategic direction to expand its international academic relations and provide exchange opportunities for students, faculty members, and staff, thereby facilitating the sharing of academic and scientific expertise between the two universities.

It is significant to mention that the cooperation supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
