The Northern Technical University specifically at the Technical College of Administration in Mosul has conducted the defense of the first technical Ph.D. dissertation under the (Study in Iraq) initiative and it is in the field of Business Administration Technologies by the postgraduate student, Mr. Rohat Ahmed Sheikh Ismail Zadeh.

The University reviewed that the dissertation entitled (The Mediating Role of Innovation Strategy in the Relationship Between Corporate Governance and Financial Performance: An Analytical Study of a Sample of Banks in the MENA Region (2016–2024), aimed at analyzing the relation between corporate governance and financial performance, as well as studying the mediating role of innovation strategy within this relation, utilizing banking data from several countries across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The Northern Technical University highlighted that the dissertation highpoints the importance of governance practices and innovation strategies in improving financial performance and enhancing the ability of banks to navigate the variables and challenges inherent in the banking environment.

The University added that the defense embodies the objectives of the (Study in Iraq) initiative, which seeks to attract international students and expand postgraduate study opportunities for them at Iraqi universities and the grow academic presence of Iraqi educational institutions at both regional and international levels.
