The Iraq Education Conference hold panel discussion as part of on ways to leverage smart digital transformation to develop the higher education system and enhance the efficiency of university management.

The discussion covered the requirements for digital infrastructure, smart systems, and cybersecurity, highlighting their role in building an integrated educational and administrative environment that aligns with the demands of a knowledge-based economy.
The session was moderated by Director of the Information Technology Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amir Musa Al-Saadi.
The discussion addressed the fundamental pillars for building an integrated digital ecosystem. Key topics included networks which serve as the data-transmission backbone connecting the system’s components and data centers, which form a core element of digital infrastructure.
The panel also examined digital systems for operational management (encompassing over 120 distinct systems) and cybersecurity, which acts as a strategic component in protecting digital infrastructure from threats.
Furthermore, the session explored how to utilize digital infrastructure, networks, and smart systems alongside strengthened cybersecurity to accelerate digital transformation.
The discussion emphasized elevating the standards of education and administration within higher education institutions, ensuring they keep pace with technological advancements and support the development of a knowledge-based economy.

It is significant to mention that the discussion was attended by  Dr. Yosra Ben Fadel, a prof. at the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology in Sousse, Dr. Mazen Samir Al-Hakim, Vice President for Scientific Affairs at Al-Farabi University and Dr. Ali Al-Sherbaz, Academic Director for Digital Courses and Skills at the University of Cambridge.
