Acting His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi laid the foundation stone for the British University in Iraq, underscoring the importance of expanding international academic partnerships and attracting reputable universities and educational institutions, this initiative aims at contribute to the development of the Higher Education system and elevate the standard of academic programs.

Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mousawi siad that the establishment of the British University in Iraq aligns with the Ministry's drive to internationalize higher education and engage with global academic experiences.

His Excellency added that the Ministry is actively working to attract international students, expand cooperation with global universities, and host branches of distinguished foreign educational institutions.

Dr. Al-Mousawi highlighted that international academic partnerships and a global educational presence in Iraq represent a vital pathway for exchanging expertise, localizing knowledge, and enhancing the academic competitiveness of Iraqi universities and these initiatives provide students with educational opportunities within Iraq that meet international academic standards.

His Excellency reviewed the Ministry's ongoing efforts to develop Higher Education pathways most notably the implementation of the Bologna Process besides this approach fosters student-centered learning, focuses on cultivating scientific and practical skills, and modernizes academic programs to align with labor market demands and global developments.

Dr. Al-Mousawi emphasized the significance of high-quality educational projects in enhancing the academic and research environment and strengthening Iraq's presence within the international higher education system, as well as commending the efforts that contributed to the realization of the British University in Iraq project.
