A joint research team in the College of Pharmacy, University of Al-Mustansiriyah, Dr. Suhad Faisal Hatem, Dr. Wassan Abdul Karim and Mr. Yasser Kadhim Hashem conducted a joint study on the possibility of relying on the modern APE1 marker to diagnose cervical cancer. The joint study reviewed the protein expression of Marker (APE1), its role in the diagnosis of cervical cancer and its association with clinical pathological criteria and the most important of which is lymphovascular tissue generation via using Immunohistochemical technique, as well as the relation of this marker with age, tissue differentiation, carcinoma and lymphatic proliferation. The joint study, which was published in the Journal of Pharmacology Research and Technology in Scopus, highlighted that the level of detecting Marker expression (APE1) in cervical cancer reached (100%) in the nuclei of tissue cells, while the level of detecting of nuclei and cytoplasm reached (82.85). %), with significant differences compared to the non-infected. The joint study concluded that the APE1 is a good factor for determining the prevalence of cervical tumors and helping specialists in detecting the status of lymphangiogenesis of cancerous tissue.
