The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research inked a memorandum of cooperation with the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission to enhance scientific, academic, and research collaboration, exchange expertise, and train personnel, thereby strengthening institutional and research development.



Higher Education reviewed that the memorandum was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education by Director General of the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up, Dr. Hazem Abdul Razzaq and on behalf of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission by Assistant Director General, Dr. Munir Kadhim Mohsen.



The Ministry highlighted that the memorandum of cooperation includes organizing scientific conferences and specialized workshops, encouraging researchers to conduct joint and specialized research in the peaceful uses of atomic energy, and developing postgraduate programs in scientific and engineering fields related to nuclear and radiation.



Higher Education demonstrated that the memorandum also emphasized the importance of strengthening academic cooperation in the peaceful uses of atomic energy, agricultural applications, lasers, plasma, and water resources, as well as utilizing the outputs of scientific research to contribute to address issues related to the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and other scientific fields.



It is significant to mention that the areas of cooperation also included the exchange of lecturers and researchers, participation in graduate student thesis defense committees, and academic supervision, all of which enhance integration between the two institutions and elevate the level of scientific research and academic qualification.
