A board study in the College of Medicine, University of Al-Mustansiriyah reviewed the role of fibrous rich platelet in healing a chronic perforated eardrum. The study highlighted the effectiveness of using of rich platelet in healing chronic perforated eardrum, its side effects and its role in improving the level of patient recovery. The study also reviewed testing 56 patients with perforation of the eardrum that were divided into two groups; the first 28 patients who underwent a tympanoplasty via using only fibrous rich platelets under Local topical anesthetic and the second 28 patients who had a tympanoplasty mediated via temporal fascia and under general anesthesia.
