A research team in the Iraqi Center for Genetics and Cancer Research, University of Al-Mustansiriyah obtained a patent on innovating a new effective way of producing neural stem cells in the laboratory.
The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, included innovating an effective method of producing neural stem cells from the bone marrow by isolating, diagnosing and distinguishing stem cells into neurons in the laboratory via measuring the levels of gene expression during neuronal formation using polymerase chain reaction technology.
