In cooperation with the Canadian Association for Governance and Compliance, College of Business Economics, University of Al-Nahrain organized a symposium on the principles of governance and field of its application in Iraq and the Arab countries. The symposium highlighted governance and its basic basics in the practice of financial and banking activities, as it represents the bank's immunity, when it is exposed to risks and penalties. The symposium highlighted of the basics of governance and compliance and the success stories of some countries in the Arab world in governance. The symposium recommended the importance of all banks and financial companies adhering to the “Know Your Customer” during the registering of the account, educating citizens on governance and compliance issues and preparing a guide to practical practices and a code of professional conduct.
