During a participation in a workshop on implementing IRMIS for early warning at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Headquarters in Austria, Directorate of Radiation and Nuclear Safety, merged Ministry of Science and Technology reviewed IRMIS as a support system to implement the convention on early detecting of a nuclear accident by providing a mechanism to report large amounts of environmental radiation monitoring data during nuclear or radiological emergencies. The workshop, in which a number of 6 Arab countries participated, aimed at assisting the member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in ARASIA, enhancing their capacity to protect the public during nuclear or radiological emergencies via using of the IRMIS system, activating of the USIE system to receive the international assistance for preparedness and response.
