The College of Engineering, University of Babylon discussed a Ph.D. thesis on integration of an absorption cooling system with a solar thermal energy storage unit using a phase-change material by the postgraduate student, Mr. Farouk Hassan Ali.
The thesis aimed at designing and integrating an absorption cooling system with a solar thermal energy storage unit based on a phase-change material (PCM).
The thesis confirmed the technical and energy feasibility of the proposed system and its applicability under local climatic conditions, as well as improving thermal performance efficiency and cooling continuity, reducing reliance on traditional energy sources and achieving sustainable and environmentally friendly cooling solutions.
