Baghdad University Obtains Patent

Two faculty members in the University of Baghdad obtained a patent on using the enzyme urease in which produced and partially purified from the Proteus Mirabilis bacteria to detect urea in blood.

The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, reviewed using enzyme urease produced from local isolated bacteria of Proteus Mirabilis from samples of urine which purified by precipitation with ammonium sulphate by 24% saturation.
