Basrah University Manufactures Artificial Respiration Apparatus & Produces 60 Tons of Disinfectants

College of Engineering, University of Basrah manufactured an artificial respirator apparatus and produced 60 tons per day of disinfectants, Head of the Crisis Cell, Dr. Saad Shaheen said. Dr. Shaheen added that the apparatus was tested on laboratory animals as well as the university will produce 15 devices every day and  will equip the Ministry of Health and its formations with the devices to avoid the crisis of the needs for respiratory equipment in Basra’s hospitals and other governorates. Dr. Shaheen reviewed that the university has two production lines, a line for direct processing with containers and a line for packing plastic containers of 5 liters and a capacity of 20 liters as well as the solutions are manufacturing according to international health standards. For his part, the faculty member in the College of Engineering, Dr. Abdul Wahid Abed Al-Hassan Kadhim Al-Hajjaj delivered a proposal to Basra Health Directorate to provide a specific solution to disinfect the corpses of the deceased with Corona virus and treating patients' vomiting and saliva with the specific disinfect materials.
