College of Education for Human Science, University of Diyala held a symposium on geomorphological forms and their appropriateness to water harvesting in the eastern side of Province of Diyala.
The symposium aimed at identifying the basins’ capacity of the eastern side of Diyala, detecting sources of surface water and groundwater, measuring rain amount in order to inaugurate water harvesting projects and studying the natural ingredients such as, geological structure, climate, soil, water and vegetation.
The symposium recommended activating water harvesting projects in the study area basin and installing hydrological stations in the basin area to determine the amount of water revenues; especially the basin receives large quantities of water which need to be exploited in a good manner.
