During a meeting with the Heads of the Committees of the Deans of the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Yasir Al-Aboudi reviewed ways of possible supporting for the colleges of the medical group, developing and modernizing the medical education environment in Iraq. Dr. Al-Aboudi stressed on obligating the medical colleges inaugurated in private university educational institutions to conduct scientific twinning with sober international universities according to the timelines that ensure the achievement of the scientific and societal goals envisaged by the specialized colleges and the selection of the dean of the college via the committee of deans of medical colleges exclusively and in light of the conditions stipulated in the law of Private Higher Education No. (25) for 2016, as well as conducting final exams for medical students in private universities from the Faculty of Medicine in public universities and under the supervision of the Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges in Iraq. His Excellency continued by saying that the Ministry is keen on following legal and professional vision with the file of inaugurating the medical colleges at Al-Kafeel and Al-Ain Private Universities, as well as checking all the details and needed requirements in light of the approved scientific standards, the opinion of the Ministries of Health and Planning, and the course of procedures that began with the application for incorporation two years ago, its exclusive academic powers are in estimating the urgent need to accommodate the increasing number of students with high grades and provide specialized educational services and clinical services in accompanying educational hospitals. Dr. Al-Aboudi pledged to work in a team spirit in Higher Education system in order to recognize the educational process and obtain graduates that embody the actual response to the requirements of sustainable development. His Excellency praised the creativity and excellence award exam for the top graduates of medical colleges in Iraq. For their part, the attendees reviewed ways to attract medical faculty members with postgraduate degrees according to the Ministry of Health and to improve the infrastructure and its absorptive capacities and educational hospitals in line with the population growth index. It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by Dr. Anees Khalil, Head of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Medicine, Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, Head of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Dentistry and Dr. Sarmad Hashem Al-Khatib, Head of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Pharmacy.
