During a ceremony of starting new academic year, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalel Al-Esa called on the students of all universities and institutes to organize national solidarity rally to express the unity of Iraq.

Dr. Al-Esa added that the academicians contribute in recycling repercussions of wars and crises, controlling the rhythm of events and rationalize situations and His Excellency praised all the national voices that called for the unity of Iraq.

His Excellency said that, “In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, Every year and our Iraq is safe and unified, it is a new academic year that welcomes our students who will hold the responsibility to lead Iraq in the coming days, it is a new year in everything this time as it carries the imprint of our heroes when they regain everything that was raped by the terrorists, it’s a new year in term of returning our universities, which were liberated with the courage and determination of the Iraqi forces and by the martyrs, so welcome to the new academic year for faculty members and students because they are the partners in making success, the success of the faculty members is based on students and the success of students is a new light for Iraq's future.”

 Dr. Al-Esa added that, “dears, all of you have lived and suffered from what the country has gone through, you have all endured the burden and the responsibility, so we are now in the most difficult and most responsible period, the preservation of the achievement is more difficult than striving for and achieving it to preserve the national gains that culminated in the unity of Iraq, land and people, to double responsibility in future, one of our responsibilities is to keep universities away from politics, it is also our responsibility to educate citizenship and community peace, we want the university to return not only in leading community, but also to build and lead it, the mission of the university’s faculty members, staff and students is not easy; therefore, it stands as priorities of the State of interest, follow-up and development, because academicians contribute to recycle the repercussions of wars and crises, it is up to them to control the rhythm of events and rationalize situations, hence, we call on staff of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of universities and institutes to organize a national solidarity gathering in which the media expresses the unity of Iraq, land and people from north to south.”

His Excellency added that, “In this context, we appreciate all the national voices which, on behalf of Iraq, have expressed pride, love and devotion to the civilization of this country, which will remain united and God’s willing all the best for our universities once again as they opens their gate to a bright future made by all Iraqis”.
