During the International Scientific Conference on Achieving Sustainable Development Requirements in University of Anbar, Under the patronage of Higher Education, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail said that Iraq is keen on providing the needs to achieve the requirements of the sustainable development via improving the ability of economic development and conservation of natural resources as well as promoting social development. His Excellency added that the Ministry is working on liberating the universities through reconstructing the facilities, rehabilitating the infrastructure and developing their scientific and human resources to achieve the desired scientific and cultural goal. Dr. Al-Suhail praised by saying that the University of Al-Anbar has the ability to achieve its goals and assume the responsibility of the next stage. His Excellency added that the three-day conference aimed at studying water resources of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and achieving agricultural development and food security through the construction of dams and large reservoirs. It is worth mentioning that the conference was entitled "Water Management Between the Challenges of Reality and the Requirements of Sustainable development", included three axes, first was on management of the economics of water resources, dams and reservoirs, the second was on water quality and methods of enhancing investment in the agricultural sector and the third was on water quality, pollution and water harvesting.
