During a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart, Dr. Azmi Mohafadha, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.  Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed enhancing twinning programs between universities, joint agreements and memorandums of understanding and scientific cooperation programs between the two countries.

Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that the two sides demonstrated the importance of scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi and Jordanian universities and the importance of joint coordination in light of memorandums of understanding between the two countries.

His Excellency affirmed that the field of ​​cooperation between the two countries provides a positive scientific climate for the development of expertise, skills, curricula and joint specialized research.

Dr. Al-Aboudi said that the Ministry is keen on productive partnerships, keeping pace with changes and cultural exchange and proceeding with the development of capabilities and indicators of development in the performance of university institutions.

His Excellency also reviewed the Ministry of Higher Education and its universities’ openness on partnerships and attracting international students at the level of university and postgraduate studies to study in Iraqi universities.

For his part, Jordanian Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmi Mohafadha said that the universities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are proud of their relations and joint programs with Iraqi universities, which have hosted and graduated many students and personalities.

Dr. Mohafadha added that the consolidation of climates of joint cooperation that serve the interest of academic institutions, students and researchers in the two brotherly countries.

It is worth to be mentioned that the meeting was attended by the head of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Khaled Touqan.
