During a meeting of the Central Industrial Advisory Council at Anbar University, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs stressed the importance of enhancing integration between academic institutions and productive sectors, and directing research efforts towards addressing developmental challenges and meeting the needs of the labor market.

Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd said that the primary goal is to transform Iraqi universities from first and second-generation universities to fourth-generation universities, ultimately reaching the fifth generation in the future, by adopting an industrial and smart education model that keeps pace with modern global developments. 

The Deputy added that one of the most prominent executive steps in this direction is the adoption of the Bologna Process, which has been successfully implemented in several accredited colleges as part of efforts to modernize curricula and educational systems.

Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd emphasized the importance of the Industrial Advisory Council as a cornerstone for linking university graduates with the industrial sector and identifying its actual needs and requirements. 

The Deputy reviewed the Science and Technology Parks project, which represents a genuine investment in student potential and young talent, and provides a supportive environment for promising jobs and investment opportunities.

Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd highlighted that the presence of international students from 40 different nationalities at Anbar University reflects the success of efforts toward academic openness and internationalization, and supports plans to develop modern scientific programs and specializations in cooperation with international universities.

For his part, Chairman of the Central Industrial Advisory Council and President of Anbar University, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Neda delivered presentation on strategic integration toward becoming a pioneering university. 

Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Neda also reviewed Anbar University's history, its academic and scientific journey, its most prominent activities and achievements, and presentations from Anbar University colleges on their scientific and engineering projects and the possibility of implementing them in cooperation with the public and private sectors.

For their part, Directors General, heads of unions, and private sector business owners praised the quality of the research projects presented and affirmed their readiness to collaborate in manufacturing, marketing, and providing training and field application opportunities for students.

It is significant to mention that the meeting was also attended by Deputy from the Ministries of Trade, Environment, and Planning, the Deputy Governor of Anbar for Technical Affairs, and several other officials from Anbar Governorate and the Central Industrial Advisory Council at Anbar University.
