During Science’s Day honoring ceremony, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi stressed that the successes achieved by the educational institution hold everyone responsible for continuous development to improve quality indicators and enhance scientific research climates that make universities and academic institutions sustainable service centers that meet all the needs of society and all the requirements of the national labor market.
Dr. Al-Aboudi honored the winners of Science’s Day awards in the fields of pure, engineering, medical, agricultural, veterinary, humanitarian, administrative and economic sciences.
His Excellency reviewed that the coincidence between the occasion of Science’s Day and the important academic event represented by Iraq achieving the thirty-seventh score in the world in the results of the Times Ranking indicates a clear indication that the steadfast scientific will of this great country is not satisfied with stagnation and remaining far from areas of distinction that require more gains in forums, international efforts to raise the ranks of universities in international rankings and increase the balance of Iraqi scientific research in sober international institutions.
Dr. Al-Aboudi honored the winners of the Science’s Day awards, which included the distinguished universities, the distinguished research center or unit, distinguished scientific journal, distinguished scientific research, distinguished authored or translated book, patents, distinguished graduation project and distinguished volunteer encouragement work, as well as those included Higher Education Award for Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences.
For her part, Director General of the Research and Development Department, Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi reviewed scientific results presented on Science’s Day and the most important updates related to the award criteria.
