During a participation in a workshop on the National Program for Iraq for the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in Erbil, the researcher in the Directorate of Environment and Water, merged Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Talib Rashid Abbas reviewed benefiting of Green Climate Fund to finance projects related to climate change mitigation and adapting projects to set their priorities within the framework of the nationally defined contributions document. The workshop, in which a number of representatives of the United Nations participated, recommended eliminating legislative and administrative obstacles to facilitate the process of benefiting from the fund, encouraging private sector to engage in financing projects, implementing the recommendations related to the document of the National Program for Iraq for the Green Climate Fund via the National Authority (NDA) concerned with the management of the program.
