The Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research announced on sixty-two Iraqi universities and colleges have
registered competitive positions in the Times Sustainable Development Rankings
for the year 2024.
Higher Education reviewed that the official
website (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/impactrankings...) highlighted an
increase in the number of Iraqi universities and colleges that kept their score
in the Times Sustainable Development Ranking to 62 universities, after it was
53 in the previous edition, topped by the University of Basrah, in which
obtained the score ( 401-600) globally and the Universities of the Al-Mustaqbal
in which obtained the score (601-800), Baghdad in which obtained the score (601-800),
Babylon in which obtained the score (801-1000) and Kufa in which obtained the
score
(801-1000).
Higher Education also reviewed that the
British Times Sustainable Development Ranking evaluates (2,152) universities
from 125 countries by achieving a number of United Nations goals out of
17 goals, including quality of education, health, well-being, partnerships,
industry and innovation.
It is worth to be mentioned that Iraq
obtained the score 37th worldly after 13 universities obtained competitive
scores in (The Times) Ranking, Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects for2023,
in which University of Baghdad obtained top score in the specialty (Dentistry
& Oral Sciences), Scimago Ranking, in which forty-seven institutions
obtained top score, Greenmetric Ranking, in which the number of Iraqi
educational institutions has increased to seventy-four universities and
colleges obtained top score, RUR Ranking, in which there are forty-five Iraqi
universities obtained top score and Webometrics Ranking is added to it, in
which more than a hundred Iraqi universities and colleges obtained top score.
