During the meeting, the Deputy for Scientific Research and Chairman of the Technical Education Council, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd emphasized the importance of advancing technical education and developing its academic and applied pathways to keep pace with scientific and technological advancements and meet the demands of the labor market and the needs of state institutions and productive sectors.


For his part, Head of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Apparatus, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hussein Kalari at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq welcomed the meeting and praising the importance of continued coordination and cooperation among educational institutions and the exchange of expertise and experiences in the field of technical education.


The meeting demonstrated the progress of work in the Science and Technology Parks Department at the University of Technology, a proposal to hold the first conference on technical education, and the process of defining job descriptions and titles for specializations in departments that have been transformed into polytechnic colleges, as well as exploring the possibility of establishing new academic departments specializing in architecture.


The meeting highlighted the feasibility of granting technical universities the authority to offer mini-specialized certificates and a proposal to establish a College of Technological Teachers, along with several other agenda items aimed at developing the technical education system and enhancing its academic and professional outcomes.


It is significant to mention that the meeting was attended by the Director of Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Apparatus at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the President of Erbil Polytechnic University, and the presidents of other technical universities, Prof. Dr. Kalari.
