Directorate of Environment and Water, merged Ministry of Science and Technology conducted a study on manufacturing and developing of ultra-fine Nano-membranes for water treatment purposes. The study reviewed the methods of manufacturing and developing improved polymer membranes via loading polymeric membranes with Nano-membranes for the purpose of improving the specifications of the manufactured membrane. The study also reviewed that the materials are to sterilize water via eliminating of bacteria and prevent the adhesion of organic pollutants on the surface of the membrane adjacent to water. The study highlighted that this technique will contribute in treating water efficiently as well as increasing the expiration of the membrane and no need to add antiseptics in the advanced levels of treatment and then preventing the emergence of secondary results of sterilization caused by increasing the concentration of chlorine ratios to treat drinking water.
