During a meeting with French Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Bruno Ober, University of Basra reviewed prospects for joint cooperation and inaugurating French Language Learning Center at the university, President of the University, Dr. Sajid Saad Al-Nur said. Dr. Saad Al-Nur added that the two sides highlighted strengthening of the cultural relation between the university and French universities in the fields of health, environment, oil, agriculture and legal studies as well as technological aspects. Dr. Saad Al-Nur continued by saying that the two sides reviewed activating a French Language in the university by adding some curricula for students in the College of Translation and English Language departments in the colleges. For his part, Mr. Ober said that the visit is the first of its kind to the University he expressed the keenness of French universities on opening new horizons of cooperation with Iraqi universities, especially with the University of Basra for its great cultural heritage.
