College of Nursing, University of Kirkuk organized a workshop on gallbladder stone treatment.
The workshop, in which a number of researchers and specialists participated, included identifying signs, symptoms, diagnosis of gallbladder stone and new used techniques in surgical intervention in treating gallbladder stone as well as reviewing ways to reduce their risks.
The workshop reviewed the forms of gallbladder stone such as the large yellow with high cholesterol concentration of 80% of the normal stones and the dangerous black stone which may cause jaundice that requires a surgery to be removed.
The workshop recommended eating healthy food, avoiding junk foods and conducting periodic test of cholesterol in the blood as well as practicing a physical exercise.
