During a participation in a workshop on the role of implementing special legislations on the Chemical Weapons Convention, Malaysia, National Supervisory Board, merged Ministry of Science and Technology incorporated reviewed the act of the National Control Authority, the role of legislation on the Chemical Weapons Convention and the need for inter-agency coordination at the national and regional levels. The workshop highlighted the nature of chemical security threats and vulnerabilities, mechanism of implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the international legal framework to combat chemical terrorism, as well as controlling toxic chemicals via enhancing the implementation of criminal legislation and cooperation in the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
