A research team in the College of Science, University of Mosul, Dr. Anwar Mustafa Ezzat Al-Faidi, Dr. Bassam Mahmoud Al-Imam and Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud Younis obtained a patent on manufacturing a Nano-diode from (Si-CNT Junction) via plasma spraying for the first time without a catalyst. The patent reviewed manufacturing Nano-carbon tubes (the used carbon’s purity is 99%) without an auxiliary agent for the first time. The patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, demonstrated a new method for depositing carbon in isolation from any contamination with very high purity in the form of (very fine) carbon nanotubes via plasma sputtering, which is being done for the first time in Iraq.
