College of Environmental Sciences and Technologies, University of Mosul organized a symposium on biofertilizers and their role in environmental protection and food safety.
The symposium reviewed the causes of groundwater pollution, including the excessive use of chemical fertilizers, especially nitrogenous ones, which cause several diseases to humans and animals.
The symposium demonstrated the uses of biofertilizer technology, the components of which do not contain pesticides or chemicals, which are safe in terms of health and cheap compared to chemical fertilizers, as they are classified as environmentally friendly fertilizers.
The symposium highlighted the importance of using biofertilizers instead of relying on chemical fertilizers and their contribution to reducing environmental pollution rates by producing clean, safe and healthy food for humans.
