College of Science, University of Mustansiriyah discussed a
master dissertation on the preparation of a Nano-composite used to treat environmental pollution resulting from the
influence of water by industrial dyes by the postgraduate student, Mr. Naseer Ali
Mansour.
The dissertation reviewed the preparation of
the Nano-composite from tin dioxide (SnO2), based on
three simple and inexpensive methods and studying
the physical properties of the compound, as well as demonstrating its
efficiency in treating environmental pollution resulting from the influence of
water by industrial dyes via testing effective dissociation of trimethylene blue dye and its treatment as an
industrial model for water pollution.
The dissertation highlighted the success of the methods used in manufacturing the nanomaterial with
specifications and physical properties that were controlled by changing the
acidity of the chemical precursor material used in preparing the new material
at a low preparation temperature of 130 degrees Celsius, in addition to the
effectiveness of the prepared material in dissolving the methylene dye and
purifying the water by it reached (98%) via using solar radiation, which is a catalyst for the material to
decompose the dye as an energy source, which is natural, available and
inexpensive from the economic aspects.
