College of Applied Sciences, Samarra University discussed a master dissertation on the evaluation of some hormonal, immune and biochemical variables in women with iron deficiency anemia by the postgraduate student, Ms. Nibras Imad Ali.

The dissertation aimed at investigating the causes of iron deficiency anemia in women through some biochemical and microbial variables related to this disease.

The dissertation confirmed the increase in ferroportin protein in sick women, which is attributed to an increase in the gene expression of ferroportin FPN in the duodenum in IDA in order to increase the flow of iron and transport it to the body, as well as increasing in the level of erythroferon in sick women, and an increase in the level of hephaestin in sick women, which plays a central role in iron balance in the entire body.
