Samarra University’s Mater’s Dissertation: On Evaluating Level of Some Hepatokines & Hormonal & Biochemical Parameters in People With Diabetes

College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra discussed a master dissertation on evaluating of the level of some hepatokines and a number of hormonal and biochemical parameters in patients with type 2 diabetes in the City of Samarra by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Elaf Hashim Ahmed.

 

The dissertation aimed at investigating the relation between type 2 diabetes and the liver and adipose tissue by measuring the level of secreted hepatokines and a number of hormonal and biochemical parameters in men.

The dissertation reviewed a significant increase at a significant level (P ≥ 0.05) in the concentration of Fetuin-A, Selenoprotein-P, Hepassocin, Adropin, total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoproteins for cholesterol, low-density lipoproteins for cholesterol and very low-density lipoproteins for cholesterol and fat phosphate, fasting glucose concentration, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase in patients compared to healthy subjects.

The dissertation confirmed a significant decrease at a significant level (0.05 ≥P) in the level of insulin hormone, body mass index and HOMA-B in patients compared to healthy subjects, and no significant differences were observed between the studied groups in the atherosclerosis index, HOMA-IR and QUICKI.
